Stick Bug¶

Stick Bug is a NPC found on the tallest mushroom in the Mushroom Field, next to the Top Stick Bug Fighters Leaderboard. It is accessible by using the Red Cannon/Yellow Cannon/Blue Cannon with the Parachute/Glider, or using the Beekeeper's Boots and jumping from the second mushroom to the one with the Royal Jelly. Players will need a Translator to talk to Stick Bug, where they can then ask it to start the Stick Bug Challenge. Stick Bug then appears as a boss mob and always spawns in the Sunflower Field first. Upon defeat, it flees to a random Field from this list:

- Cactus Field
- Pumpkin Patch
- Mountain Top Field
The player can start the Stick Bug Challenge for free every 1 and a half days (1d, 12hr), by initiating it anytime for 50 Tickets, or by giving Stick Bug a Present during Beesmas.
When the challenge ends, the player will be awarded an amulet depending on their score (More information in the Stick Bug Amulet page).

Hey there flesh-bug. Seems like your bees are really enjoying themselves this Beesmas. The Stick Nymphs, though. They're jealous... They've got no Beequips. No Stickers. No nothing. The least we could do is give them some hats. Yeah. Hats make people happy. Heh heh. Let's get some hats for these guys so they'll get back to dancing. - During - N/A - Completion - That kind of hurt. I'm not complaining. We go [sic] the hats. Now let's take all that stuff you gathered and turn them into hats somehow. Here you go little twigs - looking good. Now that the Stick Nymphs have hats, Festive Nymphs may spawn during challenges you start with me. Festive Nymphs give improved loot, and grant a stack of "Festive Nymph Blessing" when you defeat them. That blessing gives bonus Capacity, Instant Bee Gather Conversion, Honey Per Pollen, and Bee Attack. It stacks up to 250 times and lasts 8 hours. Should be a nice boost to your hive. Seems like the Nymphs are ready to dance. |

Trivia¶
- If the player gave Stick Bug a Present, started its Egg Hunt quest, started its 2019 Beesmas Quest, or finished any of its Beesmas quests (except for 2019), the Stick Bug Challenge would automatically start.
- Stick Bug, Shadow Bear, the Cub Buddies, Bee Bear and Spirit Bear are the only NPCs that dance.
- There is a glitch where Stick Bug may fall over from its regular location on top of the tallest mushroom. If this occurs, it will either be in the Dandelion Field, the Mushroom Field, or somewhere in between.
- Another glitch is on the Brave Bee Gate ramp, where walking to the bottom of the ramp and on the corner of the Bamboo Field will cause Stick Bug to briefly get stuck there when it tries to follow the player.
- In Beesmas 2019, Stick Bug gave the most Honey when given a present (33,333,333 Honey), the next being Panda Bear at only 5,000 Honey.
- If Stick Bug moves to the Mountain Top Field, it has a chance of falling and getting stuck in the Pineapple Patch or Pumpkin Patch.
- Stick Bug and Wild Windy Bee are the only mobs that are impossible to defeat, as depleting all of their HP will only level them up and regain their HP.
- Stick Bug waves when the Stick Bug Challenge ends.
- Stick Bug is one of the three NPCs that requires a Translator to interact with, the others being Gifted Riley Bee and Gifted Bucko Bee.
- Stick Bug's boss fight theme became part of the popular bait-and-switch meme "Get stickbugged lol", which spread far from the BSS Community.
- Stick Bug is aware of this meme, indicated by his Beesmas 2020 dialogue for receiving a Present.
- In Spirit Bear's dialogue, she states that Stick Bug scared her as a cub, which indicates that Stick Bug has been around for a long time.
- Stick Bug's Beesmas 2022 Quest originally gave 1 Caustic Wax, no Swirled Waxes, no Ticket Planters, and 1 Invigorating Vial. This was soon buffed to 3 Caustic Waxes, 1 Swirled Wax, 1 Ticket Planter, and 2 Invigorating Vials.
- As stated by Spirit Bear, Stick Bug loves pineapples.
- Stick Bug is the only NPC that needs a Translator that isn't also a permanent quest giver.
- During Beesmas 2024, Onett would start a Festive Stick Bug Challenge at random every few days.
- During the Egg Hunt 2019 Event Update, Stick Bug would plant an Epic, Legendary, and Supreme Sprout after finishing its Egg Hunt quest.
- This makes Stick Bug the only NPC able to spawn Sprouts.
