Ability Tokens

Ability Tokens

This piece of content contains information obtained through datamining.

Due to the nature of the information, details may be inaccurate or outdated.

Datamined information:

  • How many tokens, majorly Impale, Rain Cloud and Tornado, works internally
  • The use cooldown, trial cooldown and trial success rate of every ability

Some of the information were taken from the Ability Token Spreadsheet. — December 19th, 2024

This content contains assumptions.

Though the precise details may be inaccurate, most information comes from great testing and supported assumptions.

Assumptions made: Much of the technical information provided is based on Onett's Discord messages, most of which are dated back to 2018. The assumption is that the information is still accurate to this day.

An array of ability tokens.

Ability tokens are tokens generated by bees, which can be collected to activate special abilities and buffs. Almost all bees spawn ability tokens, with the exceptions being ungifted Basic Bee and Brave Bee without Beequips. If the player doesn't collect a token within a certain amount of time, it fades away. Players can't collect the tokens generated by other players' bees and vice versa, as the tokens are client sided. Prior to the May 7th, 2018 update, other players' tokens were visible, but still couldn't be collected by others.

Some tokens aren't generated by the player's bees (such as honey tokens from flowers). The player can tell apart the two types of tokens by the fact that tokens dropped by bees give off gold sparkles, while tokens generated through other means do not sparkle. Also, tokens dropped by someone else's bees are not visible to the player, which means every visible token is collectible (though there is a bug where some loot tokens cannot be collected, usually at the end of a Honeystorm or Snowstorm).

Spawning categories

Ability tokens fall into 3 categories, based on when a bee can spawn that token:

  • Gather: Ability tokens that can be generated when the bees are collecting pollen. Most ability tokens that can be generated under this situation can collect pollen and/or boost pollen collection.
  • Battle: Ability tokens that can be generated when the bees are targeting/attacking mobs. Most ability tokens that can be generated under this situation can inflict damage or debuffs to enemies and boost bees' combat process.
  • Idle: Ability tokens that can be generated when the bees are not doing any other activities (gathering, attacking, converting,...)

Some ability tokens fall into multiple or all of the categories above.

Spawning attempts

When a bee pauses after making movement (either to gather a flower, to attack, or to simply turn), it will attempt to spawn its ability tokens.

Each ability token has 3 variables that dictate how often the ability token can spawn:

  • Use cooldown: The amount of time it takes after the ability token has been spawned for the bee to attempt to summon that ability token again.
  • Attempt cooldown: The amount of time a bee has to wait in-between attempts before it can attempt to spawn the ability token again.
  • Attempt success rate: The probability that the attempt succeeds. If the attempt succeeds, the ability token is added to a pool that the bee uses to spawn its ability tokens.

When a bee attempts to spawn its ability tokens, it goes through every token ability it can spawn and check if its use cooldown and attempt cooldown has expired. If it has, the bee attempts to spawn the token. If this attempt succeeds, the token is added to a pool. Once every ability has been checked, the bee looks in its pool and picks a random token to spawn, removing that token while keeping every other token in the pool for the next spawn attempt. The spawned token then starts its use cooldown again.

The average time an ability token takes to spawn can be found using the formula: \(time=useCooldown+attemptCooldown\times {\frac {1}{attemptSuccessRate}}\) .

Stats

These are stats which affect the characteristics of ability tokens.

Bee Ability Rate

Bee Ability Rate increases or decreases how often bees spawn their ability tokens, by dividing the use cooldown and attempt cooldown, as well as multiplying the attempt success rate. Note that because of this, Bee Ability Rate increases or decreases ability tokens' spawn rate by much more than its stated amount.

For example: a 200% bee ability rate will reduce an ability's use and attempt cooldown to 50% of its original value (100% ÷ 200%), and increase its success rate by 100% (or double it).

Ability Token Lifespan

Ability Token Lifespan extends the duration of uncollected ability tokens generated by bees before they despawn. It can be boosted by a Gifted Stubborn Bee and Cog Amulet and by the Paper Angel and Paperclip beequips, and also temporarily by adding the Drooping Stubborn Bee Sticker to the Sticker Stack. The maximum amount currently possible is 145%.

Ability Duplication Chance

An ability token being duplicated and that token being collected

When there is a chance, ability tokens will spawn its duplicated/duped variants randomly on a field. Duped tokens hover over the field and last for double the tokens' lifespan, and that lifespan is further increased by 5% per Digital Bee's level. Duped tokens can be collected/activated by standing beneath it for 1 second.

Ability duplication chance can be increased by field corruption from Digital Bee's Glitch and Map Corruption ability tokens. It also can be increased from Gifted Digital Bee. Other than from Digital Bees, ability duplication chance can also be increased by the 'Corrupt' upgrade purchasable from the Robo Bear Challenge and only applies during that challenge. It can also be provided by Science Bear during his "Corrupting The Glitched Drive" quest, where he corrupts the Clover, Spider, Pineapple, Rose, Pine Tree and Mountain Top fields at random.

Bee Movespeed

Bee Movespeed affects how fast bees move and perform actions.

While not directly related to ability tokens, having more Bee Movespeed allows bees to make more attempts at creating Ability Tokens, and vice versa. This overall increases or decreases the average spawn rate of an ability token.

Bee Ability Tokens

Bomb

The Red Bomb (left), Blue Bomb (middle), and Buzz Bomb (right) tokens.

Bomb collects pollen from flowers in an area.

Split by the types of flowers the ability collects, there are 3 categories:

  • Buzz Bombs collect 7 pollen from all types of flowers.
  • Red Bombs collect 10 pollen from only Red flowers.
  • Blue Bombs collect 10 pollen from only Blue flowers.

The amount of pollen collected increases by 10% per level (e.g., 200% on a level 20 bee).

Split by the range of the ability, there are 2 categories:

  • Bomb tokens collect from 13 surrounding flowers.
  • Bomb+ tokens collect from 29 surrounding flowers.

Collecting Bomb tokens also grants the Bomb Combo buff, which grants a buff to Bomb Power.

Many bees have at least one of the bomb variants:

There are also other sources of Bomb tokens:

  • Balloons during a Surprise Party have a chance to generate Blue and a Buzz Bomb tokens.
  • Many Beequips can give the bee that equipped it Bomb abilities, if the beequip has them.
  • Bang Snaps can give Bomb and Bomb+ of any color.
  • Smiley Stickers can give Blue Bomb.
  • Bottle Caps can give Buzz Bomb.

If Red Bomb Sync is on, all Red Bombs collect white pollen. If Blue Bomb Sync is on, all Blue Bombs collect white pollen. If both Syncs are active, all Bombs collect any color of pollen.

When Pollen Haze is active, all Bomb ability tokens are automatically collected, and they may also pollinate flower patches that they collect from.

Bomb falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Bomb has a use cooldown of 8 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 4 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 25%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 20 seconds.

The token lasts for 4 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

Boost

The Red Boost (left) and Blue Boost (right) tokens.

The White Boost token.

Boost grants the player the Boost buff of the respective color, which gives buffs to the matching-color pollen. When collected, red/blue (depending on the type) and white sparkles appear on the player's bees and their character.

Many bees have at least one of the Boost variants:

There are also other sources of Boost tokens:

  • Balloons during a Surprise Party have a chance to generate White and Blue Boost tokens.
  • Unactivated targets from Target Practice spawn Red Boost tokens.
  • Festive Gifts and Festive Mark commonly spawn Red Boost tokens as one of its rewards.
  • Many Beequips can give the bee that equipped it Boost abilities, if the beequip has them.
  • Berets can give Blue Boost.
  • Leis can give Red or Blue Boost.

Sometimes flowers generate Boost tokens instead of Honey tokens. These tokens look almost identical to Boost tokens generated by bees, except the latter have gold sparkles while the former does not. Boost tokens from flowers take more time to fade away. These Boost tokens generated by flowers do not count for Ability Token quests and badges. Token Links collect Boost tokens generated by the player's bees, but not tokens spawned by the field.

The buff granted by the Boost token can be found in other sources. For more information, see the relevant article.

Boost falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Boost has a use cooldown of 4.5 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 4.5 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 33.33%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 13.5 seconds.

The token lasts for 4 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

Haste

The Haste token.

Haste gives the player the Haste buff, which grants extra movement speed. Haste does not affect the speed of bees or of players while using the Parachute or Glider.

Hasty, Shocked, Ninja, and Photon bees have the ability. Other sources of Haste tokens include:

  • Balloons during a Surprise Party have a chance to generate White and Blue Boost tokens.
  • Toy Drums and Whistles can give the bee that equipped it the ability, if the beequip has it.

The Haste buff can be consumed by the player's Tornado to improve the summoned tornado.

The buff granted by the Haste token can be found in other sources. For more information, see the relevant article.

Haste falls into the Gather, Battle, and Idle categories, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers, while attacking mobs, and while idling.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Haste has a use cooldown of 4.5 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 4.5 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 33.33%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 13.5 seconds.

The token lasts for 4 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

Honey Gift

The Honey Gift token.

There are 2 types of Honey Gift tokens in the game, visually identical to each other. They serve the same purpose of giving the player honey.

  • Honey Gift tokens are worth 100 honey multiplied by bee level squared.
  • Honey Gift+ tokens are worth 250 honey multiplied by bee level squared.

These amounts can be increased by having a higher Honey from Tokens percentage.

Honey Bee is the only bee to have the Honey Gift ability, and Diamond Bee is the only bee to have the Honey Gift+ ability. There are no other sources of Honey Gift nor Honey Gift+ in the game.

Honey Gift falls into the Gather, Battle, and Idle categories, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers, while attacking mobs, and while idling.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Honey Gift has a use cooldown of 120 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 60 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 25%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 300 seconds.

The token lasts for 10 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

Focus

The Focus token.

Focus gives the player the Focus buff, which grants extra Critical Chance. When collected, green and white sparkles appear on the player's bees and their character.

Looker, Commander, and Music bees have the ability. Other sources of Focus tokens include:

  • Activated targets from Target Practice spawn Focus tokens, and collecting Target Practice outside of a field has an 80% chance of granting the buff.
  • Reindeer Antlers and Pink Shades can give the bee that equipped it the ability, if the beequip has it.

Focus falls into the Gather and Battle categories, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers and while attacking mobs.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Focus has a use cooldown of 4.5 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 4.5 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 33.33%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 13.5 seconds.

The token lasts for 4 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio, sped up and its pitch increased, plays when the token is collected:

The Token Link token.

A Token Link collects all other ability tokens (except for other Token Links) and grants 25 honey and an additional 10 honey per level for each other token collected this way (e.g. 175 honey per token collected on level 15 bee).

For stacking purposes, note that the ability tokens are collected based on how early they were spawned. If two or more link tokens are collected at the same time, they may link the same tokens. The other tokens activate once, but the player gets two sets of honey from link tokens.

A Token Link can also collect Honey Gift tokens generated by Honey Bee, Diamond Bee, honey tokens from Vicious Bee's Impale, treat tokens from Puppy Bee's Fetch ability, tokens from Festive Bee's Festive Gift ability, tokens from Cub Buddy gifts, and tokens from mobs. However, it does not collect honey tokens generated by Coin Scatter, Gummy Star or Target Practice.

Exhausted, Rage, Shocked, and Music bees have the ability. Other sources of Token Link tokens include:

  • Balloons during a Surprise Party have a chance to generate Token Link tokens.
  • Paper Angels, Paperclips and Bead Lizards can give the bee that equipped it the ability, if the beequip has it.

Mark

The Pollen Mark (left) and Honey Mark (right) tokens.

A Pollen Mark on a field.

A Mark token deploys a Mark in a random area on a field that grants a specific buff when the player stands in its range. When a mark is activated, its radius and the green light on top of the mark lights up, and the player is given a buff based on what mark they activated.

Two Pollen Marks stacked above each other.

Each Mark can be stacked to increase its effect, done by linking with each other (i.e. overlapping each other). If the player stands in a Mark that is linked to another one, all linked Marks are activated.

There are currently 4 types of marks in the game:

  • Pollen Mark gives the Pollen Mark buff, which increases all pollen.
  • Honey Mark gives the Honey Mark buff, which grants conversion links and increases Convert Rate.
  • When the player walks off the Honey Mark's range, conversion links remain, and bees still convert honey normally until they finish converting. The player will lose the Convert Rate buff, however.
  • Precise Mark gives the Precise Mark buff, which increases Critical Chance and Super-Crit Chance. See the dedicated section for more details.
  • Festive Mark gives the Festive Mark, which grants several buffs. See the dedicated section for more details.

The rest of this section will only concern Pollen Marks and Honey Marks.

The two Mark abilities are split into the Mark and Mark+ variant.

  • The Mark variant spawns Marks that lasts for 7 seconds (+0.2s per bee level) with a range of 14 studs.
  • The Mark+ variant spawns Marks that lasts for 8 seconds (+0.25s per bee level) with a range of 18 studs.

Many bees have at least one of the Mark variants:

There are also other sources of Mark tokens:

The player can see other people's Marks, but they can't see those Marks' range, the Marks don't grant buffs to them, they can't be linked with their Marks, and vice versa (with the exception of Festive Marks).

The following audio plays when a mark pops up:

Rage

The Rage token.

Rage gives the player the Rage buff, which grant bees extra attack. When collected, an angry war scream can be heard, which happens in increasing pitch with higher stacks of Rage.

When collected on a field, it causes the bee to fly above the field the player is inand face the part of the field it is opposite from. Then it projects 3 targets, from the closest to farthest from the bee. Walking on and passing the target(s) activates it.

After a few seconds:

  • All of the activated targets will be shot by the bee, collecting pollen from 29 surrounding flowers and spawning a Focus token.
  • The amount of pollen collected is equal to x2 Precise Bee's attack and increased by +10% per level.
  • With Flame Heat, the shot gains up to x4 pollen and up to +50% instant conversion.
  • All of the inactive targets spawn Red Boost tokens instead.

If the player is shot while standing on a target, all ability tokens are collected, and all of the player's current Flame Heat buff is used to instantly convert pollen from the player's container, with half of that turning into 5 honey tokens around the shot target. The amount of pollen converted is equal to 50% total conversion + x10 Precise Bee's convert amount, and increased by up to x10 with consumed Flame Heat and up to x3 with field boost stacks.

When all 3 targets are activated, all ability tokens are collected and the player is granteds a stack of Precision, which grants extra super-crit chance.

  • If the triangle contains at least 1 pollen mark, it gains x2 white pollen.
  • If the triangle contains at least 1 honey mark or festive mark, it gains 50% instant conversion.
  • If the triangle contains at least 1 precise mark, it always lands a critical hit.

If the token is collected while the container is full, the triangle does not appear.

Triangulate falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Triangulate has a use cooldown of 20 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 10 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 33.33%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 40 seconds.

Bear Morph is an ability exclusive to Bear Bee.

When collected, the player is granted the Bear Morph buff, which transforms the player into the bear on the token (either Black Bear, Brown Bear, Panda Bear or Polar Bear). This gives the player a buff in pollen gain, and sets the player's base movement speed and base jump power to a higher value than normal.

If Bear Bee is Gifted, it has a 20% chance to produce a morph for Mother Bear or Science Bear, which enhances on the base buff:

Note that while every morph comes from the same token, they are seen by the game as different buffs, meaning the player can have multiple Bear Morphs at the same time. This has a multiplicative effect, but does not increase the player's base movement speed and base jump power further, as each morph sets the two values to a given amount instead of increasing them. It is not possible to stack the same type of morph multiple times - it will only reset the buff's uptime.

Bear Morph falls into the Gather, Battle, and Idle categories, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers, while attacking mobs, and while idling.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Bear Morph has a use cooldown of 45 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 15 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 50%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 60 seconds.

The token lasts for 15 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

Collecting the Bear Morph plays the same sound as collecting a Boost token.

If the player dies while Bear Morph is active, the effect is lost.

Pulse

The Blue Pulse (left) and Red Pulse (right) tokens.

Pulse refers to 2 abilities, Blue Pulse and Red Pulse, exclusive to Cobalt Bee and Crimson Bee respectively.

When activated, a pulse is fired, hopping between its matching-color bees that are active (Blue bees for Blue Pulse, Red bees for Red Pulse). When the pulse lands on a bee, it collects pollen from 9 surrounding flowers around them. It collects more pollen increases with each hop, and the amount of pollen collected is increased by 10% per level (e.g. 200% on a level 20 bee).

If the player activates either Pulse and they own both Cobalt and Crimson Bees, both Red and Blue Pulses are released. If this token is Duped, it will only fire a matching-color pulse, regardless of if the player owns both bees or not.

Pulse falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Pulse has a use cooldown of 12 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 6 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 25%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 30 seconds.

The token lasts for 12 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

Two Passive Abilities, Haste Pulser and Focus Pulser, can fire a pulse. However, neither fires two Pulses if the player has both of the guards or bees.

Bomb Sync

The Blue Bomb Sync (left) and Red Bomb Sync (right) token.

Bomb Sync refers to 2 abilities, Blue Bomb Sync and Red Bomb Sync, exclusive to Cobalt Bee and Crimson Bee respectively.

When collected, the player is granted the Bomb Sync buff of the matching color, which allows matching-color Bombs to collect pollen from white flowers for 30 seconds (Blue Bombs for Blue Bomb Sync, Red Bombs for Red Bomb Sync), and also grants extra pollen and matching-color instant conversion.

If both are active, both Blue and Red Bombs can collect pollen from all flowers.

Bomb Sync falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Bomb Sync has a use cooldown of 30 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 15 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 33.33%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 60 seconds.

The token lasts for 24 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

Festive Gift

The Festive Gift token.

Festive Gift is an ability exclusive to Festive Bee.

A player receiving a Festive Gift from another player.

When collected, every player in the server is granted random gifts (tokens) in a circle around them. The quality of the gifts is improved with Festive Bee's level, and whether Festive Bee is gifted. The player can't see or collect any other player's gifts. Visually, a big present appears above all players and a server-wide message announces: 🎁 Festive Gifts from {Username}! 🎁

Notably, this and Festive Sprouts are the only renewable methods to spawn the Festive Blessing and Beesmas Cheer tokens. They are not guaranteed from the gift, however.

The gifts (tokens) fade away in 8 seconds, ignoring any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

Festive Blessing

The Festive Blessing token.

Festive Blessing grants the player the Festive Blessing buff, which gives Instant Conversion and Conversion Rate.

Festive Blessing tokens are granted by Festive Gifts and Festive Sprouts. When collecting this token, a message appears: Activated "Festive Blessing" (Duration: [Time])

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

Beesmas Cheer

The Beesmas Cheer token.

Beesmas Cheer grants the player the Festive Blessing buff, which gives extra bee movespeed and pollen.

Beesmas Cheer tokens are granted by Festive Gifts (if Festive Bee is gifted) and Festive Sprouts. When collecting this token, a message appears: Activated "Beesmas Cheer" (Duration: [Time])

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

Glob

The Glob token.

Glob is an ability exclusive to Gummy Bee.

When collected, 49 (81 when gifted) flowers surrounding the position of the collected token is covered in Goo.

Glob falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Glob has a use cooldown of 6 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 3 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 33.33%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 12 seconds.

The token lasts for 4 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

This and Gumdrop Barrage can be used to activate Gummy Morph.

Glob makes a splatter noise when collected.

Gumdrop Barrage

The Gumdrop Barrage token.

Gumdrop Barrage is an ability exclusive to Gummy Bee.

When activated, multiple Gumdrops are launched in a large area, covering the field in Goo. The effect is similar to using Gumdrops (the item).

Gumdrop Barrage falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Gumdrop Barrage has a use cooldown of 9 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 4 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 25%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 21 seconds.

The token lasts for 4 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio, with a higher pitch, plays when the token is collected:

The following audio, with a higher pitch, plays when the gumdrops are generated:

Beamstorm

The Beamstorm token.

A Beamstorm activated by a player.

Beamstorm is an ability exclusive to Photon Bee.

When activated, 25 yellow beams (+2 per level) are fired from the sky into flowers in a 15x15 flowers area around the position of the collected token. When a flower is hit, all the pollen in it is collected, with a x2 Pollen multiplier.

If Photon Bee is gifted, the Beamstorm token's beams appear as white and the pollen collected by the beams is instantly converted into honey, in addition to white pollen collected being tripled.

Beamstorm falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Beamstorm has a use cooldown of 20 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 10 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 33.33%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 40 seconds.

The token lasts for 12 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio, slowed and pitched down by ~70%, plays when the token is collected:

Puppy Love

The Puppy Love token.

Puppy Love is an ability exclusive to Puppy Bee.

When collected, the bond of the nearest 10 bees is increased by 30 (+10 bond per average level of all bees in the player's hive), It also grants the player the Puppy Love buff, which grants extra bee movespeed and bee gather amount.

Visually, a dog bark can be heard, a light is emitted, and a tiny heart appears.

Puppy Love falls into the Gather and Idle categories, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers and while idling.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Puppy Love has a use cooldown of 80 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 10 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 20%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 120 seconds.

The token lasts for 8 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

Fetch

The Fetch token.

Fetch is an ability exclusive to Puppy Bee.

When collected, a ball spawns in front of the player. The player must kick the ball by touching it or it despawns in 5 seconds. Then the Puppy Bee chases the ball to try and pass it back to the player, despawning in the same amount of time. The player and the Puppy Bee can keep passing the ball back to each other until it despawns.

As the ball is passed over, it can collect pollen, tokens (other than treat tokens from Fetch itself), pop fuzz bombs, and bubbles. The amount of pollen collected is increased by 100% (+15% per level, e.g. 400% pollen increased on level 20 bee).

Every 3rd kick made by Puppy Bee creates a combo that spawns a treat token at Puppy Bee's current location, which increases in value. Unlike other treat tokens, these can be collected by Token Link. As the combo continues, the ball moves faster when kicked and it collects more pollen until it reaches the max combo that gives 256 treats (9 combos). Any further combo won't spawn treat tokens. The player can get a maximum of 511 treats per fetch ability, under normal conditions.

Fetch falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Fetch has a use cooldown of 140 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 5 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 50%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 145 seconds.

The token lasts for 8 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The ball can sometimes fall outside of the field, out of range for the player or Puppy Bee to continue passing the ball to each other. It also sometimes gets stuck and allows the player to 'pass' it easily.

While the Puppy Bee plays Fetch, it does not do anything else but play Fetch. Playing Fetch can be dangerous if the player's bees are attacking enemies, as they can run into an enemy as they chase the ball.

If Puppy Bee is wearing the Reindeer Antlers beequip, the ability is enhanced to Reindeer Fetch.

The following audio, with its pitch increasing based on the color of the ball, plays when the token is collected and either the player or Puppy Bee has hit the ball:

Scratch

The Scratch token.

Scratch is an ability exclusive to Tabby Bee.

When collected, 7 (+1 per level) pollen is collected from 3 lines of 4 flowers. The pollen collected can be increased through #Tabby Love. If Tabby Bee is Gifted, Scratch always lands critical hits.

Visually, a cat's growl is heard and three cat claws rip through the field around the token.

Scratch falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Scratch has a use cooldown of 12 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 6 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 25%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 30 seconds.

The token lasts for 10 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio, with its pitch slightly higher, plays when the token is collected:

Tabby Love

The Tabby Love token.

Tabby Love is an ability exclusive to Tabby Bee.

When collected, the player is granted a permanent stack of Tabby Love, which permanently improves the stats of a player's Tabby Bee, making it collect more pollen, convert more pollen, and improving #Scratch's pollen gain.

If Tabby Love reaches max stacks, it instead grants the Tabby Blessing buffs, giving the player extra Critical Chance and Critical Power. If Gifted, the buff is changed to Tabby Blessing+, granting Super-Crit Chance on top of prior buffs.

Tabby Love falls into the Gather and Battle categories, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers and while attacking mobs.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Tabby Love has a use cooldown of 120 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 60 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 20%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 360 seconds.

The token lasts for 16 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio, with its pitch down a little, plays when the token is collected:

Impale

The Impale token.

Impale is an ability exclusive to Vicious Bee.

Vicious Bee generates an Impale token that summons a number of spikes equal to the bee's level, that damages enemies for 5% of their current health and increases with Vicious Bee's attack, but the damage is reduced past 1,000. Mobs that have been hit by a spike take less damage from other consecutive spikes.

Each enemy hit by a spike generates a honey token worth 50 (+50 per level) honey. These honey tokens can be collected by Token Link and take 10 seconds to fade.

Stick Nymphs being attacked by a Gifted Vicious Bee's impale.

If Vicious Bee is Gifted, gold spikes spawn instead of normal ones. Impale will have +1 levels of accuracy added (meaning Vicious Bee's spikes can hit mobs that are one level higher than it without missing).

A more detailed explanation of the ability is provided below:

  • Impale first targets every living enemy in a 75-stud radius of the player.
  • If it finds a group of targets, it summons a spike at the nearest target's position, then waits up to 0.2 seconds before summoning another at the next target. This is repeated until every target in the group has been damaged once.
  • It then prepares a number of spikes equal to the level of the Vicious Bee that activated the ability.
  • If Impale has not run out of spikes yet, it will target every living enemy in a 75-stud radius of the player again. This is repeated until it runs out of spikes, or there are no more living targets in the radius.
  • The number of times an enemy has been targeted is stored, henceforth referred to in formulas as cnt.
  • The summoned spikes' accuracy work the same way as bee attacks, just with 1 extra level if Vicious Bee is gifted.
  • The damage dealt is calculated in this order:
  • Let atk be Vicious Bee's attack at the time of activation. Then \(baseDamage=2\times atk\).
  • If the target has the Humanoid tag (as of the current update, every enemy has this tag), adds 5% of target's HP to baseDamage.
  • \(baseDamage>1000\), excess damage is square rooted: \(baseDamage=1000+{\sqrt {baseDamage-1000}}\)
  • The damage then is nerfed by the number of times the enemy has been targeted: \(baseDamage=baseDamage\times 0.05+{\frac {baseDamage}{cnt}}\times 0.95\).
  • Critical hits and Super-Crits are then applied, along with any Impale damage multiplier, resulting in the variable finalDamage.
  • If a critical hit or Super-Crit occurred, the damage is nerfed to 75%: \(finalDamage=\left\lfloor {finalDamage\times 0.75+0.5}\right\rfloor\)
  • The enemy is dealt finalDamage damage.

Impale falls into the Battle category, meaning it spawns while attacking mobs.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Impale has a use cooldown of 30 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 1 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 100%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 30 seconds.

The token lasts for 24 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

Rain Cloud

The Rain Cloud token.

Rain Cloud is an ability exclusive to Windy Bee.

When collected, a Cloud is spawned on a field different from the field the collected token is on. The probability that a field is chosen depends on the field the collected token is on.

The field the token chooses is based on the location of the token when it was collected. The probability of a field being chosen can be found below.

When another player's Windy Bee summons a cloud on the field the player is standing in, a message appears, saying 🌧️ {Username}'s Windy Bee summoned a Cloud in this field 🌧️.

Rain Cloud falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Rain Cloud has a use cooldown of 45 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 20 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 50%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 65 seconds.

The token lasts for 24 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

Tornado

The Tornado token.

Tornado is an ability exclusive to Windy Bee.

When collected, all of the player's Haste stacks are taken to summon a tornado at the position of the token, assuming the token is on a field. The tornado moves around the field while dealing damage to mobs, collecting pollen and tokens, and popping bubbles and fuzz bombs, around a 5-tile-radius range (approximately 49 surrounding flower tiles) every second. It will also collect pollen out of balloons it passes through.

The speed, damage, and lifespan of a summoned tornado depends on the number of Haste stacks spent and the level of the bee that summoned it. Let x be the number of Haste stacks spent and y be the level of the bee that summoned it, the following formulas can be used:

  • \(multiplier=1+0.1\times {({\frac {y-1}{19}})}^{2}\)
  • \(duration=10+x\times 0.4+{\frac {x^{1.4}}{3.2}}\), add 2 if at least 1 stack of Haste was spent
  • \(damage=10+y^{1.5}\)
  • \(\left\lfloor 3.5+{\frac {y}{3}}\right\rfloor\) pollen from each flower around its radius per second. Pollen collected is multiplied by multiplier.
  • \(\left\lfloor 0.5+damage+(20+y^{1.5}\times 1.75-damage)\times {({\frac {x}{3}})}^{2}\right\rfloor\) damage to each enemy in its radius per second.
  • \(7+18\times {\frac {x}{10}}\) studs a second.
  • Lasts for \(\left\lfloor duration\times multiplier+0.5\right\rfloor\) seconds.

Note that if the Tornado token is collected outside or above the field, it does not summon a tornado but still spends Haste stacks.

Tornado falls into the Gather and Battle categories, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers and while attacking mobs.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Tornado has a use cooldown of 80 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 10 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 33.33%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 100 seconds.

The token lasts for 24 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio plays when the tornado is active:

Glitch

The Glitch token.

Glitch is an ability exclusive to Digital Bee.

When collected, the field the player is currently in is corrupted for 20 seconds (+1s per level). A glitch effect will occasionally appear on the field (which can be disabled in the System Page), every ability token collected in that field has a chance to be duplicated or "Duped", and Digital Bee will be able to spawn ☺︎ tokens.

The corruption on the field can be increased to raise the ability duplication chance and the pollen collection and instant conversion of duped abilities. The corruption can be increased by enhancing Digital Bee with Drives. Colored Drives increase the corruption of field with matching flowers while Glitched Drives increase corruption of all fields.

Glitch falls into the Gather and Battle categories, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers and while attacking mobs.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Glitch has a use cooldown of 60 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 10 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 33.33%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 80 seconds.

The token lasts for 12 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

Map Corruption

The Map Corruption token.

Map Corruption is an ability exclusive to Gifted Digital Bee.

When collected, a random field is corrupted by a small amount for 3 minutes (+15s per level) for all players in the server.

Once the token is collected, a server-wide message announces: ☺︎ {Username}'s Digital Bee corrupted the [Field Name] ☺︎

The amount of corruption from this can be increased by enhancing Digital Bee with Drives. There are also special effects based on the most recent drive used to enhance Digital Bee:

  • If the most recent drive is a colored drive, Map Corruption is more likely to corrupt the field with more flowers matching the color of that drive
  • If the most recent drive is Glitched Drive, the field it chooses will be completely random but gains 25% more corruption.

Map Corruption falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Map Corruption has a use cooldown of 360 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 15 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 12.5%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 465 seconds.

The token lasts for 24 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

Mind Hack

The Mind Hack token.

Mind Hack is an ability exclusive to Digital Bee.

When collected, the minds of up to 3 nearby enemies (+1 per 3 lvls) are "hacked", stunning them for 3 seconds (+0.1s per lvl). While hacked, the enemies take 25% more damage (+0.1% per Glitched Drive Digital Bee has been enhanced with). Hacking is only half as effective against bosses.

This token also spawns a ☺︎ token if collected inside the field.

Mind Hack falls into the Battle category, meaning it spawns while attacking mobs.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Mind Hack has a use cooldown of 90 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 2 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 33.33%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 94 seconds.

The token lasts for 16 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

The following audio plays when the token is collected:

☺

The ☺ token.

☺ (otherwise known as Smile Tokens) is an ability exclusive to Digital Bee.

The token can only be generated as a duped token, while inside a corrupted field. When collected, they temporarily:

  • increase field corruption and activate all duped tokens,
  • hack a nearby non-boss enemy (with a similar effect as Mind Hack),
  • and collect and double pollen equal to 50% of Digital Bee's gather amount (+50% pollen multiplier per duped token activated) in a "☺", "&", "*", "~" or "?" arrangement of flowers, with 50% of the pollen being instantly converted.
  • The flowers collected by this are also stamped for 10 seconds, causing them to yield x2 pollen.

The frequency for this token to be generated increases with the number of Glitched Drives Digital Bee has been enhanced with. While exact stats for the token are unknown, some information can be inferred from update patch notes:

  • The average base delay between Smile Tokens is 22 seconds.
  • At maxed Glitched Drives, this average is 14 seconds.
  • The first Smile Token will always be created after half the average of the base delay.

☺ tokens take roughly 4 seconds to fade away.

Beequip-Exclusive Ability Tokens

Snowglobe Shake

The Snowglobe Shake token.

Snowglobe Shake is an ability exclusive to bees that have the Snowglobe beequip equipped.

When collected, they give all players in the server the Cool Breeze for 20 seconds, granting a plethora of stats.

The same buff can also be obtained from using Snowflakes during the Beesmas event, which add 10 seconds of Cool Breeze per use.

Snowglobe Shake falls into the Gather, Battle, and Idle categories, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers, while attacking mobs, and while idling.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Snowglobe Shake has a use cooldown of 300 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 30 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 16.67%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 450 seconds.

The token lasts for 8 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

Festive Mark

The Festive Mark token.

A Festive Mark on a field.

Festive Mark is an ability exclusive to Festive Bees that have the Festive Wreath beequip equipped.

When collected, a Festive Mark is deployed in a random area in the field that the player is standing in for 12 seconds (+0.5s per level), with a ~22-tile radius. Standing within its range grants the Festive Mark buff, which gives extra Honey Per Pollen, Bomb Pollen, Red Bomb Pollen, Instant Bomb Conversion, and Conversion Links.

Unlike other marks, Festive Mark also grants boosts to other players and its range can be seen by other players. It also can link with other players' marks. However, the Festive Mark buff cannot be stacked even if two festive marks overlap each other.

When Festive Mark is active, it summons random gifts within its range that can be collected by any player and flashes colors cycling through red, blue, green and yellow at the top of the pole. Rarer gifts appear more likely with bee level and certain gifts are only obtainable when Festive Bee is gifted. Every 4th token generated by the festive mark is always a Red Boost token.

The gifts include:

Festive Mark falls into the Gather category, meaning it spawns while gathering from flowers.

Without any Bee Ability Rate modifiers, Festive Mark has a use cooldown of 300 seconds, an attempt cooldown of 30 seconds, and an attempt success rate of 16.67%. This give an average spawn rate of 1 token every 450 seconds.

The token lasts for 16 seconds before despawning, without any Ability Token Lifespan modifiers.

Reindeer Fetch

The Reindeer Antlers beequip, when equipped to Puppy Bee, enhances its Fetch ability into Reindeer Fetch.

Puppy's ball glows bright red and emits white sparkles, and every combo grants the player the Reindeer Guidance buff, which grants extra capacity.

A Gingerbread Bear and 512 Treats combo.

Additionally, the ball has a small chance to spawn 1 Gingerbread Bear at high combos (max 1 per day). While 256 treats is normally the highest amount from a combo, it's possible to get to 512 treats if the gingerbread bear spawns in the middle of the combo progression.

Trivia

  • Stacking 10 marks will give the Saturn Sticker.
  • Fuzz Bombs used to be called "Dust Bunnies".[1]

The Red Bomb Sync's description before the 2021-12-26 update.

  • The description for the Red Bomb Sync boost used to be "If Red Bomb Sync is active, 🍎 s (apples) to blue flowers too." This was an Easter Egg after Onett accidentally typed "apples" instead of "applies" in Red Bomb Sync's description.
  • This was later changed to the apple emoji, and then was changed to the proper word "applies" in the Beesmas 2021 update.
  • The audio for the Festive Gift, Festive Blessing, and Beesmas Cheer make up parts of the Christmas song Deck the Halls, respectively using the melody of the lines "Deck the halls with boughs of holly", "fa-la-la-la-la", and "la-la-la-la".
